I don't think undead, especially ones that are rotting corpses like zombies, really fit in this game. I mean, it's not like it's less realistic than the Automaton TF, for example, but flavor wise it doesn't seem to match anything else.

Well, there is a Graveyard where Vampires, zombies and the occasional skeleton run around. Not only that, but there are a decent number of Dragon forms, it isn't impractical to think that a dragon was wither buried in the Graveyard or was killed by undead in there. Or a new high level quest could be added explaining that a group of Vampires is creating Undead Dragons. In terms of gameplay, it would give people another boss to fight and another from for those who love Dragons or undead as well as new powers. It could also add a bit more color to the graveyard, maybe there are Dragon bones/corpses that may occasionally come to life as lesser forms of the Undead Dragon: adding to the danger and spooky atmosphere of the Graveyard. After all, Undead and Zombies are already in the game, so it's kind of silly to say that they "don't fit" the game: if they "don't fit" then why would the the devs bother putting them into the game?

There isn't one - not in the single player. The multiplayer has one, but that doesn't mean we do have to put everything from over there into the game here. In regards to undead, I'd draw the line at vampires and sexy ghosts.

On the undead front there's already a vampire if you called the snow bat which sucks people's blood and doesn't like the sun overly much.
If you count werewolves there's the wereraptors.
An undead dragon could be the result of the union of some undead creature and a dragon.

No sexy skellingtons? You of all people should appreciate a good boning. ;3

I also suppose dark magicians of one sort or another could be there? And you could make all sorts of quaint beasts that adhere to the geographical aesthetic and less the undead theme. You could throw the gargoyle right in there, no problem.

It's a quaint idea, all in all. I could see it working like the Stables as a small, hidden zone with a handful of monsters. Something to ponder when the zones get overbloated again.

The snow bat is just a vampire bat/snow leopard hybrid. It's not undead, neither is the were-raptor. A hypothetical union between some undead creature and a dragon still needs an undead creature, which the single player game doesn't have.

On the issue of the undead, I believe there is an graveyard/undead/horror area in the multiplayer for those into that sort of thing. Now, unless Nuku or one of the other multiplayer devs states otherwise, I'm assuming it's a matter of the infection making victim 'undead-like' and not that they're not actually undead. There was an example of this in the trial run we were making for single-player on the server. It was some kind of dessicated zombie-like enemy out to get some much needed 'bodily fluids' from the player - a 'parched <something>' I think it was. It was not undead, but it looked the part. Anyhow, that's where the early confusion in this thread originates, mixing up some multiplayer and single-player content.

In the case of single-player, we don't currently have any such 'pseudo-undead' stuff, though the Automatons use a lot of the same tropes. Some could be made if there's sufficient demand or donation requests, otherwise that sort of stuff is low on my priorities list. Certainly a new area would be best for these sorts of critters, as I can see them being a big turn-off for players who aren't into that sort of thing. Which does present a bit of a problem, as some fans may be cool with vampires (as the easiest example), but not the other critters who'd end up in the same area.

I've wasn't sure if werewolves ever counted as undead. This hypothetical union doesn't have to have an undead creature if you say that it happened outside the city and the dragon somehow made it's into one of the game's regions.

You would be surprised how often I run into zombie porn... From Japan. If it's any indication, their consumers seem indifferent/preferential towards unattractive males, a perspective not shared towards females, which illustrates a very curious form of objectification, I find. There seems to be no explicit interest in body horror, and these creatures are generally in the periphery of the scene with the female at centre, so I don't know how that'd translate to a text-based medium. Generally, the whole zombie thing is a vehicle for a Roaming Fucksquad*.

Really, I can see it working past the boundaries of your standard repertoire if you get creative. For example -- in terms of feral beasts -- you could easily have a sierrasaur-esque monster with a bone and/or granite aesthetic.
