Single Player Interpreter Problem

Single Player Interpreter Problem

Postby Blackgutter » Sun Jun 21, 2015 6:16 pm

How do I use any of the other interpreters for the single player game besides the WindowsGlulx Installer? I got windows git fromhttps://git-scm.com/download/win and gargoyle from https://github.com/garglk/garglk, but I have no idea on how to use either to start the game. Can someone give step-by-step instructions on how I would use either to start the game? I have no coding experience, so this is very frustrating.

P.S. I have a save file with a large amount of work put into the game and I cannot get it to load in the newest version of the single player game, is there a fix or is my save file permanently broken?

P.P.S. I also think I am supposed to have a graphical map to tell me where I am, I have never seen it using windowsGlulx and wondered if the others (if I can get them to work) can have it display.

Savegames are version-specific and will not work with different game versions. We got Trixie and the saveword system so you can transfer your progress over to the new version.

As for maps... FS single player mostly isn't a continuous area where a map makes sense, but rather separate map points you navigate to. The automapper function of the more complex interpreters will not help you there, sorry.

How do I use the Trixie saveword function? I saw something about that on the wiki, but I couldn't make heads or tails out of it.

How do I get the ride code, and where do I input it? Is it in my save file?
