So I "played" with the discarded dolphin thingy at the bouncy castle entrance, and I received some sort of benefit or something from that. What exactly did I get?

Being marked offers a 50% chance of a benefit in many of the rooms of the bouncy castle. Often this means avoiding fights and traps.
