Update failed - now don't have the old version or the new.

Hi. I was updating FS, and after downloading the installer and running it, it got to the portion of the install process where it is "Updating component registration", and then it glitched, saying that "Key not valid for use in specified state". I redownloaded the installer and got something 0.3MB larger, ran it again, and the same glitch occurred. I went to uninstall the current build of FS so that I could do a clean install rather than an upgrade, and found that the folder was empty apart from four files, one of them my inventory contents for when I restore a save. So I can't update and can't play what I had before. Help?

I had this happen to me and was told that if I manually deleted all the files that should fix the problem. I decided to just download an interpreter and the raw file, lot less likely to have problems doing it that way.

I'd recommend Win Git as an interpreter - that's a fast running one: http://ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archive ... sXgit.html
