As long as you follow some basic content and quality rules, you're welcome to contribute. I would recommend starting with something small at first though - immediately jumping on a massive project can leech away your motivation to write with all the work involved.

Those are some great points Wahn!

NocturneWolf wrote:Ah, I was actually pretty curious about this topic for a while now, so thanks for bringing it up koreka. ;3 But yeah, I was indeed curious if there were any channels or such for prospective writers/coders/etc. to contribute to the project, since the thought's struck me a handful of times I admit. I would suspect that there's some level of quality control that'd need to be done beforehand, but yeah... like koreka said, it might not be a half-bad idea if you guys ever put out the call or offer to add future content. It'd certainly dodge the problem of having to ask people awkwardly to draw porn, just letting them come to you instead. Not to mention it might motivate contributors to come out of the woodworks ;3

I do agree with Nocturne that maybe there should be an update that solidly communicates to the users that the project is fully open and anyone can contribute once they can do so, as well as that there is the potential for writing commissions via the Writer For Hire program should they write great content.

I know maybe it is assumed that everyone should already know that FS is an open project, but I'm sure there are those (like myself, because I sure wasn't aware of it until I started commissioning WFH requests) who probably have no idea that if someone wants to write new content in the game, they are more than welcome to contribute themselves (or collaborate with one of the veteran writers with WFH). At least it'd be good to remind them of the Wiki as well since there are some links there that explain a bit on adding new code, like here: http://wiki.flexiblesurvival.com/w/Coding_Additions (although this page definitely needs an update as some links are broken, likely by the Forum purge a while back). As well as pointing more people towards, and trying to spur more participation in, the Dev Chat forum (viewforum.php?f=4) as well, since that is where anyone who wants to contribute should probably go and post to get help and assistance (or PM one of the writers)

Which would save the trouble of having to actively try and "scout" for new writers of smut :D

In fact, I should probably myself start thinking of learning a bit of the code. Just because for a future super huge project idea I've got in mind I know it'd be super helpful to Wahn or Stripes if I could ease their workload by coding the character properties and traits, freeing them up to work on dialogs.

Well it was very sweet to see Wahn's update on the front page making a call out to any interested writers. It goes without saying that FS is certainly going through a growth phase right now in terms of the demand for more content, with more and more people wanting to commission special and specific requests. But that said, there have only been two "full time" writers left now (which doesn't take into account that they've got their own priorities to deal with first). which is why there is lots of time in between updates now.

Hopefully this push will net some new creative folk who can help out and bring in cool ideas.
